So, what about my retellings? Because, if you follow me a bit, you know that I'm re-doing (again) my retellings. Hopefully this will be the last time. First I want to precise that they won’t be literally rewriting the book over. This is not at all the best way to do it – both boring and unoriginal. I'm back people! So, you may have noticed one or two things, that I will explain here. About my disappearance... Well, first of all it was all business. I had studies, family troubles, money troubles (and I still have these ones by the way), etc... So I had to get away a bit. So… my take on the Warming Candy Room. I wanted to adapt the chapter of the “Warming Candy Room” and re-use this wonderful idea. However, I soon realized that I couldn’t keep the three original characters. Since they were basically three copycats, I decided to mix them into one character. I tried a first time… and it failed. So, I thought about it, and that is the result: This adaptation of the “Warming Candy Room” was supposed to be part of a whole re-imagining of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory with elements from the original drafts (the original names of children, the Vanilla Fudge Room, etc&#

How would I use the bratty kids in my version? Well, maybe I haven’t stated it outright before, but I truly have a desire to stay faithful and close to the book. So, I would make them close to the book depiction. For Augustus Gloop, first I just want to say I would make him very big and pig-like, just like in the book. That’s something I think the adaptations not highlighted enough. I would make him really filthy (taking ideas from the different adaptations, Augustus would constantly smell like food, belch and fart, have sticky hands…) however, he would general look like more “clean” and “upper-class”
